Who should attend: Local government finance directors and professional staff as well as others interested in sound government finance management practices.

Description: Join colleagues to examine the financial management challenges facing Illinois local governments.

Learning Objectives:

Explore the methods and benefits of financial planning as well as commonly used financial planning tools and reports used by local governments
Learn about the activities of the Illinois Pension Fairness Coalition
Gather pertinent information on the recent Illinois legislative actions affecting local government finance
Explore the ramifications of the 2010 Federal health care legislation for local governments
Gain a general understanding of GASB Statement 54, Fund Balance Reporting and Governmental Fund Type Definitions

Cancellations after August 3, 2010 and no-shows are responsible for the full tuition. Substitutions may be made with advanced notice.
