Who should attendLocal government finance directors and professional staff as well as others interested in sound government finance management practices.

  

Description:  Join colleagues to examine the financial management challenges facing Illinois local governments.

 

Learning Objectives:

  • Explore the methods and benefits of financial planning as well as commonly used financial planning tools and reports used by local governments
  • Learn about the activities of the Illinois Pension Fairness Coalition
  • Gather pertinent information on the recent Illinois legislative actions affecting local government finance
  • Explore the ramifications of the 2010 Federal health care legislation for local governments
  • Gain a general understanding of GASB Statement 54, Fund Balance Reporting and Governmental Fund Type Definitions

Cancellations after August 3, 2010 and no-shows are responsible for the full tuition. Substitutions may be made with advanced notice. IGFOA reserves the right to modify the agenda and/or speakers, cancel the training due to low enrollment, or to close registration if full.
