Intended Audience: Finance officers and other local government professionals involved in financial reporting.
Description: This seminar will focus on the accounting and financial reporting standards applicable to state and local governments for preparing financial statements, whether preparing the minimum required by generally accepted accounting principles and Illinois Compiled Statutes or preparing a comprehensive annual financial report. Participants will gain a hands-on understanding of the accounting and financial reporting principles focusing on how to apply those principles to their own financial reports to improve controls over the financial reporting process. Participants should bring a copy of their latest financial reports to evaluate during the seminar.

Registration and Cancellation Policy: Registrations are accepted on a first-in, first registered basis. Payment should be mailed in advance or made at the door. IGFOA reserves the right to apply non-member fee to any individual that has not paid dues for the current year. Cancellations after October 7, 2009 and no-shows are responsible for the full tuition. Substitutions may be made with advanced notice. IGFOA reserves the right to modify the agenda and/or speakers, cancel the training due to low enrollment, or to close registration if full.
