Program Description: A full day seminar addressing advanced and current issues in local government pension management.
Learning Objectives: Participants will
- Understand the consequences of municipal bankruptcy as it affects local pension funds
- Review state-wide pension funds fiscal condition and impact on local governments
- Learn about the Pension Fairness Coalition’s objectives to stem the rising cost of local government pensions
- Discuss pension fund investment approaches appropriate for the current economy
- Learn about the State of Illinois Division of Insurance new requirements for pension funds
- Explore the appropriate use of early retirement incentives

Substitutions may be made with advanced notice. IGFOA reserves the right to modify the agenda and/or speakers, cancel the training due to low enrollment, or to close registration if full.
