Intended Audience: Finance officers and other local government professionals involved in financial management.
Description: This workshop will explore internal controls as they relate to the governmental sectors including design and structure, setting up a monitoring system utilizing your boards and department heads, and working with your staff during downsizing and turnover.

• Review current systems for local governments and evaluate systems of effectiveness of Internal Controls
• Evaluate internal control systems and identify efficient and effective management through turnover

Kelly Zabinski began her own business over two years ago with a focus on local governments after spending 13 years with other public accounting firms. She works with local governments to improve operational effectiveness within the current structure to minimize additional costs. Kelly is a member of the IGFOA Technical Accounting Review Committee, a GFOA CAFR reviewer and a member of the ICPAS Executive Governmental Committee.
