  • Understand the processes and results of local governments efforts to prioritize services

  • Examine case studies of how services are provided and have changed due to the consolidations and sharing of services between governmental entities

  • Discuss methods of collection, short term investing, and disbursements

  • Learn how to construct an investment plan

  • Discuss the importance of integrating cash management, capital planning and long range financial planning for a comprehensive financial plan

  • Understand the definitions of the new components fund balances and the new definitions of governmental funds under GASB Statement 54
  • Learn to develop a methodology for implementing GASB Statement 54
