Intended Audience:  Finance officers and other local government professionals involved in financial management and internal control.    

 

Description:Please join us for lunch and an opportunity to learn. Jeff Nelson of MetroLINK will be speaking about ways you can protect your organization from fraud, and how establishing good internal controls can prevent opportunities for embezzlement.  An embezzlement took place approximately six years ago at the Quad City Garage Policy Group, the entity that repairs the fleets for both Davenport and Moline’s transit agencies and plays a vital support role in the functioning of both organizations. Jeff played a key role in discovery of the fraud and will be able to pass along important things he has learned in order to enable finance directors to better protect their organizations.

• Learn about the importance of internal controls to reduce opportunities for fraud
