Volunteer without leaving your desk

broadcastWeb content volunteer Help keep the IGFOA web site current by drafting updates to existing web pages or developing new web pages. Use information provided by committees and staff to provide members with fresh and user-friendly content. One-hour training on how to use the web content management software, provided by IGFOA, is all it takes to get started. The content management software is very user friendly and equipped with safeguards to prevent destruction of the web site.

Web content volunteers are asked to develop and maintain one web page, such as a committee or chapter page, and may propose linked pages as appropriate. Volunteers expected to draft a minimum of three web page updates per year. Draft web pages reviewed and tested by IGFOA staff before publishing. Familiarity with web browsing, word processing, and pc navigation required.

Distance Learning Producers Coordinate and host an IGFOA webinar from your desk! The Career Development, Technical Accounting Review, and Legislative committees provide content and instructors while the distance learning producer handles logistics.  With one-hour of training and a thirty-minute practice webinar, you’ll learn how to set-up, prepare for, and host a webinar from your own office.  IGFOA provides Internet service and training.  Volunteer producers asked to host at least one webinar each year.  Familiarity with web browsing, MS Power Point, and pc navigation required.

Members Exchange Moderator  Choose your time frame of one week to one quarter and moderate the IGFOA on-line Members Exchange bulletin board.  Moderators review the bulletin board weekly to encourage discussion, assure compliance with IGFOA policy on use of the Members Exchange, and archive topics as needed.  Moderators send a weekly e-mail to members summarizing the topics of interest.  Moderators may also draft a short newsletter article summarizing members’ advice on a hot topic.
