Description

Under the direction and supervision of the Executive Director, the Superintendent of Business Services will provide financial and administrative guidance and support to the staff and Board to ensure achievement of the strategic initiatives while maintaining financial sustainability and positive culture for employees.  The Lake Bluff Park District has a dynamic staff that consists of 14 full-time, 100 part-time and 200 seasonal employees.  Commissioners and staff work together to enhance the community through recreational experiences in a fun, safe and healthy environment.

The Superintendent of Business Services is responsible for the overall financial and business operations of the Park District.  The Superintendent of Business Services will prepare monthly reports and attend Board meetings and other meetings as needed as well as manage multiple projects such as employee market analysis, capital planning, tax levy preparation, debt and finalizing a financial sustainability plan.  The Superintendent of Business Services will work closely with the Executive Director in providing guidance to the Human Resources, Guest Service and Information Technology departments and other administrative functions as needed. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills and the ability to problem solve and present current and future financial status professionally and concisely.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, and a minimum of five (5) years full-time related experience and a minimum of three (3) years administrative experience.  Preferred candidate has CPA designation or at least five years related experience in the management of fiscal operations in field of parks and recreation, municipal government, school districts, or any equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training.

Compensation and Hours

Annual pay will start at $78,000+ depending on qualifications.  We offer an excellent benefit package, including medical, dental and vision coverage, life insurance, IMRF defined benefit pension and short and long term disability, 457 retirement contribution plan, paid time off, and park district facility and program discounts.  This is a full-time position that will require attendance at day/night board meetings, leadership meetings, trainings, and conferences.  We offer flexible work hours and the ability to work from home in times of need.
