The Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) has issued a number of pronouncements impacting all units of government in Illinois. This webinar will build on the GAAP update session held in September 2017 at the IGFOA conference in Peoria. The webinar will have a detailed discussion of each pronouncement and provide hands on experience using case studies on how the pronouncements will impact governments in Illinois. In addition, this webinar will update participants on GASB's project agenda and major projects in progress, including an update on the proposed new reporting model for governmental funds
Learning Objectives: Participants completing this session will be able to:
1. Learn about the recent pronouncements issued by GASB;
2. Understand how those pronouncements will impact governments in Illinois;
3. Explore case studies that demonstrate the practical application of GASB pronouncements on IL local governments;
4. Review the status of major projects in progress on GASB’s project agenda; and,
5. Gain knowledge of key decisions made to date by the GASB on those projects.
