Vice President of Finance & Chief Financial Officer (CFO) | Rock Valley College

Rock Valley College is searching for our next Vice President / Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The CFO has overall responsibilities for the areas of Financial and Business Services. Responsible for the college-wide coordination of fiscal control and accounting operations and contracts. Administer all fiscal and business operations in accordance with sound business principles, practices, college policies and procedures.

• Provide leadership for budget and finance information system development and implementation.
• Coordinate election processes for the Board of Trustees.
• Responsible for the integrity of all financial records and the financial health of the College.
• Provide a strategic vision for division and College as a whole.
• Serve as Treasurer for the College, as appointed, and Treasure for the College Foundation.
• Administer the College's liability, property casualty and worker's compensation insurance programs.
• Prepare and confirm all leases, grants, contracts and memoranda of agreements with appropriate College officials.

Required: Bachelor’s Degree in a business related field. Minimum of seven years’ experience in financial operations, in a role as an immediate subordinate in a higher educational institution or equivalent experience in local, state or federal government or in the private sector. Five years of supervisory experience. Demonstrated knowledge of current fund accounting principles and practices, e.g., GASB.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Accounting, or MBA or MPA with at least 30 credit hours in accounting. Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) is strongly preferred; related accounting/financial certification will be given consideration.
