DESCRIPTION:Local government agencies are particularly vulnerable to workpl
 ace fraud and employee dishonesty.  Administrators\, including finance off
 icers\, are tasked to prevent the problem\, handle the incident and implem
 ent effective controls to prevent and deter future misconduct.  Discovered
  incidents send shock waves through the organization and force management 
 to deal with many unfamiliar issues.  Getting back to the business of gove
 rnment is a time-consuming and challenging process. \nThis presentation ad
 dresses common fraud schemes in the area of asset misappropriation and pro
 curement and vendor fraud and identifies hot spots where these frauds most
