DESCRIPTION:Intended Audience:  IGFOA TARC Committee Members.  Interested i

 .org.\nDescriptions:  The Technical Accounting Review Committee monitors a
 nd comments on activities and rulings of the Governmental Accounting Stand
 ards Board (GASB). The committee provides testimony on GASB standards and 
 educates the IGFOA membership on those standards.\nLearning Objectives:\n\
 nUnderstand and comment on the most recent GASB statements and exposure dr
 afts\nExpand your familiarity of GASB implementation and financial reporti
 ng challenges faced by local governments in Illinois through direct intera
 ction with fellow accounting and finance professionals\n\nWe are going to 
 be going through GASB’s Exposure Draft on the Implementation Guide several
  chapters at a time in order to identify any areas of concern about guidan
 ce removed that shouldn’t be\, guidance that should be removed\, etc. espe
 cially given its elevation in GAAP hierarchy and now exposure to public co
 mment.\nFor this meeting we will be discussing the first 4 chapters so ple
 ase be prepared to discuss any items that merit comment either way.  We wi
 ll then deal with another group of chapters (11 chapters total) in the fal
 l as we finalize any comments to submit by the December 31st deadline.\nAl
 so at this meeting\, Mark Nannini\, IMRF\, will be presenting IMRF's new G
