ABOUT US:  The Bloomingdale Park District, located 25 miles west of Chicago, serves a growing community of approximately 25,000 residents.  Our facilities include a newly renovated recreation and administrative building, a museum, a maintenance building, an outdoor waterpark, a shared gymnasium and 13 parks offering a wide range of recreational facilities. 

JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Finance  is responsible for the management and     supervision of all financial  functions of the Bloomingdale Park District.  This position requires excellent management, organization, and communication skills.  Major responsibilities include coordination of the annual audit, preparation and presentation of the annual operating and capital budgets, preparation of the annual Budget and Appropriations and Tax Levy Ordinances, debt and investment management and oversight of all day-to-day accounting functions of the district. This position directly supervises finance staff.  This position reports to the Executive Director. 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Graduate of an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, and a minimum of three (3) years full-time related experience or any equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Experience in a government computerized environment including spreadsheets and graphics, word processing and financial software is essential. Master’s degree or CPA is preferred. Board presentation, analytical and forecasting skills are necessary. 

Valid Illinois Driver's License is required.  First Aid, CPR and AED certified (can be completed after hire).

STARTING SALARY: $70,000-$100,000(depending on qualifications).  This is a full-time  exempt position, working a minimum of 40 hours per week. Scheduled hours will be Monday through Friday, along with participation in some activities, meetings and events that may fall on occasional evenings and weekends.  Attendance at Park Board Meetings is required.
