Finance Director | Village of Pingree Grove

The Village of Pingree Grove, IL (population estimate 10,400) is a progressive community located in northern Kane County, Illinois, with Illinois Routes 47, 72 and US 20 running through the Village, and Interstate I-90 about one mile north of the Village.  The Village is a rapidly developing municipality, increasing from a population of 124 in 2000 to the present population and continues to enjoy ongoing residential, industrial and commercial growth.

The Village seeks an experienced municipal finance professional to serve as the community’s next Finance Director. The incumbent is retiring after five years of service and successfully transitioning the Village to the BS&A municipal finance platform. This department head level position is responsible for overall operations of the Finance Department. Duties include but are not limited to general supervision over recording receipts and disbursements of Village Corporate and Utility funds, preparation of financial reports, coordination of all phases of the annual audit, preparation and presentation of the annual budget, preparation of tax levy ordinances, organization and supervision of all financial policies, controls, and procedures, and supervision of assigned staff.

The Village desires qualified candidates to have graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Public Administration with at least five years of increasingly responsible public sector finance experience. Experience with employee benefits/human resources and risk management claims is a plus.

The Finance Director is full-time, FLSA overtime exempt position. The Village provides a competitive benefits package, including participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund, health, dental, and life insurance, and paid time off. Salary range for the position is expected to be $75,000 to $105,000, commensurate with skills, knowledge, abilities, and demonstrated experience. Upon identifying the successful candidate, a conditional offer of employment will be predicated on the results of a background and credit check, and a pre-employment drug screen.
