Creative and Collaborative: We are not advocating for creative accounting, but the ability to recognize and adjust to dynamic revenue streams. The Finance Department partners with every Village department to generate ideas and implement financial strategies.

Communications Guru: Analysis is essential, and numbers don’t lie, but not everyone speaks Excel spreadsheet. An effective Finance Director translates dollars and cents into operations and resource effects.  A great Finance Director can illustrate changes and impacts in relevant ways to elected officials and department teams.

Sees the Big Picture: A productive Finance Director gets out of their office and learns about each department and function to guide future directives. Rather than merely reporting monetary results.  

High Sense of Ethics and Integrity: A deep commitment to honesty, fairness, professional and politically neutral government administration

Our Desired Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in finance, accounting, public management or related field. Master’s Degree preferred.

Eight or more years progressively responsible related experience in governmental accounting.

Two years as a Finance Director or equivalent level of authority.

Five or more years supervisory experience, or any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

CPA beneficial but not required.

Our Compensation

Starting base salary range for the position is $112,000 - $150,000 +/- DOQ.
