We have an exciting opportunity for a student currently pursuing a degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, to join our Finance Department as an Intern.

Key Responsibilities

The Finance Intern will provide day-to-day support to the department in all areas and gain a wide variety of experience in all aspects relative to department functions.  The selected candidate will review accounts payable invoices for accuracy of allocation and appropriate supporting documentation and approval, input accounts payable invoices into our financial software, obtain W-9s for new vendors and any existing vendors, and communicate with staff.

In addition, this role will perform administrative duties to include data entry, scanning of documents, filing, report creation,  creating journal entries,  reconciling general ledger accounts, assisting with audit and budget preparation, and performing basic math calculations related to Village operations, including payroll.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student in a local college or university, with a major in finance, accounting or related field.  Must have the ability to follow written and oral instructions,
work under supervision as well as independently, multi-task, and pay great attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of the principles and practices of bookkeeping, Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and possess excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.

Additional Information

Must be available to work on a part-time basis up to 25 hours per week with a consistent work schedule.  Kindly submit a summary of your current availability with your application.   We can offer a flexible schedule to work around scheduled classes.
