TO ALL CLERKS, TREASURERS, FISCAL OFFICERS, MAYORS, VILLAGE PRESIDENTS AND COUNTY BOARD CHAIRMEN
The Illinois Department of Revenue will be holding informational workshops in calendar 2016 to discuss items related to the allocation and distribution of taxes to local governments including updates on changes that have happened as well as some exciting news for the future. Some of the topics that will be covered will include: Annexations, Business District Taxes, Rebate Sharing Agreement reporting, changes in the reciprocal agreements for exchange of confidential information, and the Annual Taxpayer Location Address List.
We encourage municipal officials, county officials and their staff members to attend the workshops. Clerks, treasurers, fiscal officers, and staff who are responsible for reviewing taxpayer listings are personnel who also could benefit from these workshops.
There are no fees associated with the workshops and no limit on the number of people from each local government who may attend. Please visit our website to register for one of the workshops dates at http://tax.illinois.gov/LocalGovernment/Workshops/localgovworkshop.htm.
