Speakers:
Lindsey Fish, Principal, Sikich. Lindsey Fish, CPA, is an audit principal at Sikich where she began her career in 2013. Lindsey provides assurance and advisory services to a variety of municipalities, counties, community colleges, park districts, school districts and other special districts. Lindsey is a member of the Illinois Government Finance Officers Association, serving as the Regional Coordinator for the Rock River Chapter, the Illinois Association of School Business Officials, and the Illinois Association of County Officials. She frequently speaks to these organizations on a variety of accounting, auditing and internal control topics.
Kim Falco, National Director of Sales, Asset Control Solutions. Kim Falco serves as National Director of Sales for Asset Control Solutions for the last 13 years. Kim consults with Public Sector clients Nationwide for GASB 34 Compliant Capital Asset Inventory, Reporting and Insurance Valuation. She is responsible for building relationships, promoting the company’s brand and exposure in affiliate organizations, procuring new clients and negotiating contracts for ACS. Prior to her tenure at ACS, Kim worked as a Chamber of Commerce Executive and also worked in the Residential Real Estate Field. She is entrenched in industry associations, organizations and served on the Partners Forum Committee at IGFOA and WASBO Conference Planning Committee. Kim currently serves her County as a Precinct Committeeman and was a former Elected Official.
Refresher on Capital Assets under GASB 34
Join us for a relaxed and engaging Lunch & Learn session offering a refresher on capital assets and capital asset policies under GASB Statement No. 34.
This session will be led by Lindsey Fish, CPA, Sikich, and Kim Falco, Asset Control Solutions, who will share practical reminders and insights into maintaining and applying capital asset policies.
The discussion will be conversational and interactive, with an emphasis on:
- Reviewing the fundamentals of GASB 34 as they relate to capital assets.
- Reinforcing best practices for capitalization thresholds, valuation, and depreciation.
- Addressing common FAQs and real-world considerations in asset reporting.
- Offering practical reminders on policy development and application.

Registration & Cancellation Policy
Registrations are accepted on a first-in, first registered basis. Payments by check should be mailed in advance or made at time of registration by credit card.
IGFOA Members are those Public Sector and Partner or Associate individuals specifically listed in the IGFOA Membership Application or Renewal. IGFOA Government non-member rate applies to staff, appointed officials, and elected officials of a government with a current IGFOA membership. If you have questions about your membership, contact IGFOA at info@igfoa.org. The IGFOA reserves the right to apply the non-member fee to any individual or government that has not paid dues for the current year.
Cancellation of an event registration is subject to the following policy:
• No refunds will be given for cancellations the day of the event and no shows.
• For IGFOA event registration cancellations five (5) business days or more prior to an event, refunds will be offset by a $20 cancellation fee.
• For IGFOA event registration cancellations within five (5) business days of the training, refunds will be offset by a cancellation fee of 50% of the registration fee.
• A substitute attendee may be designated provided that the payment has been made and the IGFOA office has been notified in advance.
• Cancellation policy for chapter events may differ from this policy at the chapters’ discretion.
• A written request for a refund must be emailed to the IGFOA prior to the event.
By submitting this registration, the applicant agrees to the registration and cancellation policy above.
IGFOA reserves the right to modify the agenda and/or speakers, cancel the training due to low enrollment, or to close registration if full. Should IGFOA cancel an event, cancellation notice will be sent to the email address provided by each registrant and prominently posted at the IGFOA website page announcing the event.
