Boone County, Illinois (pop. 53,448) is seeking an organized, highly motivated, and professional individual to fill the position of County Administrator.


Reporting directly to the County Board, primarily responsible for budgeting, long-range financial and capital planning, labor relations/negotiations, human resources, Committee of the Whole system, risk management, public information officer, and monitoring of federal and state legislative programs.


The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in public administration or a related field. A Master’s Degree is preferred.

Work Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday.

Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated salary in the range of $115,000 to $140,000, depending on qualifications and experience. The County participates in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) public pension system and offers a generous benefits package, including: health insurance, flexible spending accounts, an employee wellness program, term life insurance, supplemental insurance, twelve (12) holidays, paid time-off (including vacation, personal, and sick leave), and a deferred compensation 457(b) plan.
