Thorn Creek Basin Sanitary District is a small wastewater treatment facility of approximately 30 employees located south of Chicago, in Chicago Heights, IL. Work hours are 8-4:30, Monday through Friday, with 11 paid holidays. This position is an on-site full-time position.
Assistant Finance Director: Assist with all duties of the Finance Director, including billing and collections for direct customers, billing of septic haulers, tracking and reconciling municipal accounts, reviewing accounts payable, preparing detailed monthly general ledger entries and reconciling these month end reports. Assist in calendar and fiscal year end closings of payroll, general ledger and vendor files. Assist with yearly external audits.
Office Manager: Prepare in-house payroll for approximately 30 employees, to include quarterly and year-end reports and W2s. Maintain personnel records, to include initial on-boarding of new employees. Prepare and maintain administrative records for the District, such as schedules and minutes of board meetings, District agreements, resolutions and ordinances. Perform routine office duties such as processing mail and packages, front desk duties, maintain supplies and handle phone inquiries. Maintain the District's website.
Experience with an in-house payroll system, billing and bookkeeping is expected. Excel and word testing will be required.
