Finance Technician | City of Palos Heights

The City of Palos Heights is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Finance Technician.

Primary duties include processing accounts payable invoices, including receiving, reviewing, and inputting invoices, preparing voucher lists for City Council approval, distributing payments to vendors, and maintaining vendor files.  This position also performs utility billing and collection, cashiering, customer service, and related administrative and clerical duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant training or college courses a plus.
• 2 years of increasingly responsible experience in a similar role, preferably in a local government environment.
• Possess excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and ability to perform a variety of tasks.
• Should have knowledge of office machines, various software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and ability to quickly learn proprietary programs.
• Some working knowledge of bookkeeping or accounting principles preferred, but not required.
