Part-Time Accountant | Village of Lemont

The Village of Lemont, Illinois is seeking qualified candidates for the part-time Accountant position in the Finance Department. The primary responsibilities of the position are processing accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.  The position will be responsible for preparing and maintaining accurate journal entries and other financial records as well as work paper preparation for annual audit.

The part-time Accountant will report to the Assistant Finance Director. Hours of work will be Monday through Friday, generally 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for a total of 27.5 hours of work per week. Qualifications for the position include an associate’s degree in Accounting and three to five years of accounting work preferably in a municipal setting. A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for some amount of work experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. Strong technical and computer skills are necessary along with the ability to adapt to new technologies.  Qualified applicants will communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and demonstrate excellent customer service skills.

Starting pay for this part-time non-exempt position is $26.50 per hour.  Benefits include paid time off and pension contributions. Health insurance is not offered with the position.
