Thorn Creek Basin Sanitary District has a Part-Time Bookkeeper position open for its location in Chicago Heights, IL. Our hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm.
QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires some accounting/bookkeeping experience. Knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred. Experience in accounts payable, payroll, and MSI (Municipal Software) system a plus. Must be detailed oriented, able to multi-task and work with other team members.
FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare daily bank deposits, enter customer payment information into MSI, and post to general ledger.
- Maintain 3 checkbooks and reconcile monthly bank statements.
- Enter incoming invoices into Access, process invoices in MSI, cut checks through MSI and prepare checks for mailing.
- Maintain vendor files, to include w-9's for vendors and generate appropriate year end reports.
- Maintain monthly village and TCB billing reports and post to general ledger.
- Assist with customer support as needed.
- Assist with fiscal year end audit by compiling needed spreadsheets.
This position is not eligible for benefits. Position is part-time, approximately 20 hours per week but can be flexible and not to exceed 1000 hours per year. The District is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
