Summary
Palatine Park District is searching for a seasoned professional, with sound financial acumen, outstanding leadership, and excellent interpersonal skills. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Superintendent of Finance is a key member of the Leadership team and of the Finance Department. The Superintendent of Finance is the primary resource in providing financial analysis and support for decision making throughout the District. Responsible for the overall planning, management, administration and development of the comprehensive financial systems and controls for the Palatine Park District. The Superintendent of Finance directly supervises 2 staff members, and indirectly supervises 10 full time and 30 part time employees.
Position Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- BA/BS in Accounting, Public Finance, business, or related field
- Masters degree, CPA, or CPRP preferred
- Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience in public finance or comparable experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience and management experience
Compensation and Benefits
The hiring salary range is $92,000 - $101,000; starting salary is dependent on qualifications. Palatine Park District offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, and membership in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF). The Park District benefits package also includes paid vacation, personal days, holidays, sick leave, and potential for annual merit increases.
