Utility Billing Clerk | Village of Brookfield

The Village of Brookfield’s Finance Department is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Utility Billing Clerk. Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, this position is responsible for the preparation and processing of monthly utility bills for the Village.

General Responsibilities: 

Some of the essential responsibilities include ensuring accurate and timely utility billing;  working with a third-party billing processor; collection and maintenance of residential and commercial accounts; and working closely and professionally with Village residents.

Qualifications: 

High School Diploma or GED equivalent, a valid driver’s license, a minimum of three years of general office experience, proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel, and exemplary customer service skills are required. Two years of previous experience in utility billing, accounting or related activities and experience utilizing enterprise systems in a municipal setting are preferred.

An offer for this position is contingent upon the candidate's successful completion of a criminal background check and a drug screen with results acceptable to the Village.

Salary and Benefits:

The minimum of the hiring range for this position is $48,445.60 ($23.29 per hour) and includes insurance, participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) and all Village benefits available to full-time non-bargaining employees.
