The City of DeKalb, IL is seeking an Accountant to join our team!  The Accountant position performs professional level accounting work related to all City funds and accounts. The Accountant position will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks connected to the daily and monthly activity in the general ledger including various account and bank reconciliations, preparation of financial reports, and maintaining of accounting records. This position will also act as a back-up to payroll and assist with year-end, budget and annual audit processes. This position requires independent judgment, initiative and discretion based on adherence to departmental policies and procedures.  

The starting salary for the position will be between $70,000 - $75,000 DOQ.  The City  provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision and prescription benefits, life insurance coverage, HSA & flexible spending accounts, deferred compensation and participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF).
