Job Summary
The scope of this job is to perform complex accounting and financial reporting functions for the College and the Foundation. Be a key resource person for daily financial accounting issues. Assist in research and implementation of newly issued accounting regulations. Assist with coordination and preparation of annual external audit. Achieve and maintain a thorough operating knowledge in areas of assigned responsibility as detailed below.

Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field, or a combination of relevant experience, education and training that equates to the required degree.
· 4+ Years of Related Accounting Experience
   
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in community college environment.
· CPA desired.
· Experience with Ellucian, Oracle, or other ERP.
   
Physical Demands
· Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to 25 pounds with proper equipment; reasonable accommodations available.
· Light physical activity required; must be able to work in an office setting, use standard office equipment, and communicate effectively in various formats.
· Primarily daytime hours with some evening and weekends to support College events and initiatives.

Description of Job Duty
· Perform all grant accounting for the College.
· Liaison with grant directors, aiding with accounts and reports as needed.
· Perform accounting for the Kishwaukee College Foundation.
· Create quarterly Foundation reports for the Board of Directors.
· Perform monthly, quarterly and annual general ledger reconciliations; such as, cash, receivables, payables and accruals.
· Maintain Fixed Asset Inventory.
· Identify and capitalize purchases to be classified as capital assets.
· Prepare annual fixed asset ledger and depreciation reports.
· Coordinate annual fixed asset inventory.
· Assist in month-end and fiscal year-end closing.
· Coordinate the annual external audit for the Foundation.
· Assist in preparing assigned schedules for the annual external audit for both the College and the Foundation.
· Assist with the creation, development, and maintenance of internal control processes and procedures for various functional areas within the Business Office.
· Provide assistance to internal and external customers regarding budgetary and departmental account balances and follow up on any inquiries from such customers.
· Assist in formulating or improving accounting policies and procedures.
· Assist in research and implementation of new regulations and pronouncements.
· Prepare various analyses, ad-hoc reports, and reconciliations upon request.
· Respond to inquiries, interpret policy, rules and regulations, and implement new policy and procedures as necessary.
· Perform other duties as assigned
