Accountant | City of Wood Dale

The City of Wood Dale is seeking a full-time Accountant.  This position involves professional level accounting work, including, but not limited to:

• Bank reconciliations
• Payroll processing and verification
• Monthly financial reporting
• Annual audit coordination
• Annual Treasurer’s Report
• Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR)
• Annual budget preparation
• Budget-in-brief preparation

This position will also provide support for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Utility Billing, and front-end operations, including cashiering and general customer service.

The successful candidate must demonstrate thorough knowledge of accounting principles, the ability to develop and refine departmental procedures and policies, and the ability to work well with other operating departments.  Significant Excel, Word, Power Point, and ERP system knowledge and experience are required.  This individual must also be able to present ideas effectively, both orally and in writing, and establish effective working relationships with staff and elected officials of the City.

Position Requirements: A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related degree required; CPFO, CPA or advanced degree a plus.  Municipal or fund accounting experience required. 

The salary range for this position is $75,350 - $112,703* *The City of Wood Dale typically hires at the starting point of the stated salary range; however, we value experience and qualifications and encourage all interested applicants to apply.  Excellent benefits include Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund; paid vacation and sick leave accrual; and medical, dental, vision and life insurance.
