Lisle, Illinois (pop. 23,223) is seeking a collaborative, strategic, and forward-thinking Finance Director to serve as the Village’s chief financial officer and a key member of the executive leadership team.

The Opportunity
The Finance Director serves as the Village’s principal financial advisor and leads all financial operations, planning, and reporting functions. Reporting to the Village Manager and serving as a member of the executive leadership team, this position plays a critical role in shaping the Village’s financial future while supporting organizational goals, strategic initiatives, and operational excellence.
The Finance Director leads a talented finance team and works closely with elected officials, department directors, external auditors, financial advisors, community partners, and residents.

The Ideal Candidate
The Village seeks a finance leader who:
- Demonstrates exceptional financial and analytical skills.
- Possesses strong knowledge of governmental accounting, budgeting, investments, debt management, procurement, and financial reporting.

Qualifications
Qualified candidates will possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, public or business administration, or a closely related field.
- Master’s degree or related graduate degree preferred.
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in governmental accounting, budgeting, finance, or public financial administration.
- Supervisory and leadership experience.
- Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO) or similar professional certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of governmental accounting principles, budgeting practices, financial reporting, auditing, investments, and public-sector finance.
- Valid Illinois driver’s license or ability to obtain one upon appointment.
Compensation & Benefits
The Village offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. The salary range is $130,735 to $183,029, with an anticipated hiring salary of $156,000 DOQ, complemented by an excellent benefits program and a professional work environment committed to employee success.
Residency within the Village is not required.
