Financial Services Coordinator | Village of Oak Brook

The Village of Oak Brook (pop. 8,163) is seeking to fill the newly created role of Financial Services Coordinator.  Located 15 miles west of downtown Chicago, Oak Brook is home to residential subdivisions, the Oak Brook Center Mall, office and retail locations, restaurants, and numerous corporate headquarters.  Oak Brook boasts a wide range of business and recreational opportunities in a premier community.

 Assisting the Finance Director, the Financial Services Coordinator position assists in executing the overall direction of Finance Department goals and objectives.  Duties may include:

• Assisting in planning and organization of centralized activities
• Implementation of business process improvements
• Preparation of monthly financial reports and statements
• Serving as back-up to daily department functions, and as Department Head in the absence of the Department Director

 The Village of Oak Brook is committed to the modernization of daily business process.  While seated within the Finance Department, the Financial Services Coordinator position carries the opportunity to engage in interdepartmental process improvement with a technological eye on improving efficiency through automation.  Digital transformation is a focal point for the department. To this end, additional projects and duties may include:

• Research of optimization and revision to software
• Implementation of new processes to gain efficiency
• Serving as liaison to vendors, business partners, and other community groups

The successful candidate will have 3 or more years’ experience in municipal finance with a four-year college or university degree in accounting or finance.  Some experience in accounting processes, systems design, and the ability to execute projects driving change is highly desirable.  A passion to succeed through transformative process improvement is strongly encouraged.
