Purpose of Position
The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of accounting and clerical functions in support of the operations of the Finance and Administrative Departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintains all aspects of bi-weekly payroll.
Responsible for bi-monthly utility billing, finals, adjustments, payments, aging balance, and prepares delinquency and shut-off letters.
Assists with reconciling the general ledger and bank statements, along with the preparation of month end journal entries.
Primary back-up for accounts payable.
Maintains the purchase order system.
Oversees the entering of cash receipts and reconciles cash drawers.
Responsible for maintaining the City's fixed asset system.
Assists in the preparation of budget documents and budget meetings.
Assists with the preparation and review of the annual audit.
Attends Hotel Commission meetings, prepares minutes, and monitors DCVB expenses.
Maintains and reconciles petty cash.
Periodically helps with front desk duties.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in accounting or a related field.
Minimum two (2) years of clerical and data entry experience.
Computer experience with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of Springbrook financial software is preferred, but not required.
