Fiscal Clerk AP/PR – Full Time
The Village of Sugar Grove Finance Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Fiscal AP/PR Clerk.
Under the direction of the Finance Director and Accounting Manager, this position will perform a variety of routine and complex work in payroll, accounts payable, utility billing and basic cash handling.
The position processes bi-weekly payroll and semi- monthly account payable batches. This position also assists with utility billing move in/ move out processing and daily cash balancing.
Other duties include, but are not limited to, explaining Village payroll and benefits to staff, updates on account balances to vendors and general administrative assistance to the Finance Director and Accounting Manager as needed.
Must have the ability to work independently with great customer service skills and ability to learn specialized financial software as well as an understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel. A great opportunity for a self-motivated person to create their role and prove their value.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong customer service skills and conflict management techniques with the ability to handle difficult or complex inquiries tactfully and professionally.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and the ability to learn timekeeping and financial software systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling, account reconciliation, and data entry.
- Ability to organize work, set priorities, and meet critical deadlines.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Desired Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from a standard senior high school or GED equivalent with specialized course work in general office practices such as typing, accounting, data processing, and
- Two (2) years of municipal government experience is preferred.
Special Requirements:
Must have a valid Driver’s License and ability to be a notary.
Hours and Compensation
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. The hourly range for this position is $29.35 - $33.31 per hour, with the starting wage dependent on experience. Regular working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
