Description: The Senior Accountant is responsible for computing, classifying, recording, filing, and performing a variety of accounting tasks related to maintaining accounting records. There will be an emphasis on assisting the Accounting Manager.

Key Responsibilities: The Senior Accountant is responsible for accounting functions essential to the preparation, administration, control, and record keeping for capital assets, accounts receivable and general ledger entries. Responsibilities include creating and inputting journal entries, performing reconciliations and downloads, troubleshooting and resolving problems. Assists with the monthly and year-end financial close and developing the annual budget; prepares and distributes financial information for staff and for the audit. Prepares bank deposits, monthly Food and Beverage Tax return and conducts installment billings. Works closely with accounts payable and the accounting clerk. Oversees armored carrier pick up and annual shredding of records. Serves as the liaison with Parks Foundation

Qualifications: This position requires strong attention to organization, accuracy, and detail. Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred. Three years of satisfactory proven accounting experience, preferably in governmental accounting. Proficient in fund accounting, budgeting, financial forecasting procedures and methodologies, internal control systems; and financial reporting requirements. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be acceptable. Knowledge of Microsoft Office with Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel is required; Preferred experience with Tyler Technologies’ Incode financial software, Paycom, ForeUp and Vermont Systems, Inc. RecTrac registration software.

Hiring Range: $65,000 - $70,000, DOQ
