Senior Accountant | Village of Round Lake

The Village of Round Lake, Illinois (population 18,289) is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Administration Department.
General Duties: This position will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting, budget, and other related financial functions of the Village. Key responsibilities include reviewing and maintaining the general ledger, reporting of financial data, formulating reports and reconciliations, preparation for the Village’s annual audit, processing of month-end and year-end journal entries, and special projects as assigned. In addition, this position will assist with the annual budget and capital planning process.
Position Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in accounting or finance; successful completion of Certificate in Public Accounting (CPA) is preferred. Four to six years of previous experience in municipal accounting, or a related field. Proficiency in computer software, including, but not limited to Microsoft Office, Municipal ERP, or Accounting software is highly desirable.
Starting Salary & Benefits: Starting salary range $66,729 - $81,744 DOQ. The Village of Round Lake provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and prescription benefits, life insurance coverage, HSA & flexible spending accounts, deferred compensation, and participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF).
Hours Per Week: Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.
