ABOUT US:

The Crystal Lake Park District is largest park district in McHenry County. The district owns and manages over 1,400 acres of land spread among 43 sites. There are 58,000 residents living in the park district boundaries, including all of Crystal Lake and Lakewood, a portion of Lake in the Hills and some unincorporated areas. The park district has 13 buildings for programming, 21 playgrounds, 2 splash pads, 15 tennis courts and 14 basketball courts.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Superintendent of Business Services is responsible for overall financial, business, information technology, and risk management operations of the District. This position primarily directly supervises the information technology manager, human resources manager, bookkeepers and customer service staff. This position oversees multiple projects, including but not limited to capital planning, annual financial audit, annual budget process, annual tax levy, annual budget/appropriation ordinance, issuance of debt, and all on-going financial reporting and analysis for the District. This position assists the executive director. This position will require all state and federal reporting including appropriate tax documents. The district has 61 full time employees and 390 part-time and seasonal employees and operates with an approximate annual budget of $15 million for over 58,000 residents.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of eight years of full-time experience in a related field, with at least four years of supervisory experience. A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, finance, business, public administration or related field is required. Master’s Degree, M.B.A or C.P.A. and CPRP/CPRE are all preferred. Experience with VSI Rec Trac, Incode Financial Software strongly desired.

SCHEDULING AND PAY:

This is a full-time, exempt position. Scheduling is generally Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. Some weekends and evenings are required. Target hiring range is $88,690 - $110,863, based on qualifications.
