The Village of Manhattan is seeking a detail-oriented Municipal Accounant to join our Finance Team. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in accounting or an associate degree with experience working in a municipal finance department. The key responsibilities include the daily operation of the finance department and payroll. Additionally, the Accountant will occassionally assist the Director or Assistant Director with budgets, reports, and financial statements. The Village is currently using Microsoft Office and BS&A accounting software.
This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Village of Manhattan offers competive salary and benefit package including health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, cell phone allowance, benefit time off, and IMRF pension plan.
The starting salary range is $65-75,000 per year, depending on education and experience.
The Village of Manhattan is a suburbarn community with about 10,000 residents located in the southern portion of Will County, just south of New Lenox. Manhattan is considered to be one of the fast growing and safest communities in Illinois.
