Event Description
In partnership with the Midwest Association of Public Procurement (MAPP), IGFOA members are invited to attend the FOIA for Public Bodies webinar at no cost.
The Public Access Bureau in the Illinois Attorney General's Office will present a webinar on the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) for Public Bodies. The webinar will address the definition of public records, frequently used exemptions, unduly burdensome requests, and deadlines. The webinar will also discuss the Public Access Counselor (PAC) review process and common issues reported by the PAC. Leah Bartelt, Deputy Public Access Counselor, will present the webinar on behalf of the Public Access Bureau. Leah has worked in the Public Access Bureau since January 2015, and frequently presents educational programs to FOIA officers, public officials, and public employees.
