Event Description
IGFOA is excited to offer weekly virtual county roundtables to membership! Roundtables will focus on issues of interest to county government members, but all are welcome to attend. Please visit the IGFOA calendar to view and register for other upcoming virtual roundtable sessions hosted by the IGFOA on Friday's from 1 PM - 2 PM. There is no cost to attend. Questions? April 1 - Pension Obligation Bonds and Investing in a Rising Rate Market (including ARPA funds) - Stephen Adams, Director, Public Finance, PMA Financial Network, LLC, Andrew Kim, Director, Public Finance, PMA Financial Securities, LLC and Brian Hextell, Institutional Portfolio Manager, PMA Asset Management, LLC
Join Steve and Andrew for an overview of Pension Obligation Bonds (POBs) that will include defining POBs, how they work, as well as the benefits and risks of such an issuance. Then Brian will discuss municipal investing (including ARPA funds) in a rising rate environment, such as we are in now.
April 8 - GASB 87 - Leases - Timothy J. Gavin, Principal, Lauterbach & Amen, LLP
Join Tim Gavin, Lauterbach & Amen, for a review of the GASB 87 - Leases, and the types of leases that are subject to the new requirements. Tim will also demonstrate how to prepare the necessary schedules and journal entries using an Excel template tool. This will be a practical application session so bring your questions!
