Event Description
This session provides a working overview of Illinois Records Management requirements for local government agencies including applicable statutes and mandated processes for maintaining, disposing, digitizing and ensuring security of agency records. There will be a Q&A segment with an open forum for attendees to ask questions related to the session materials and/or inquire on agency specific issues. A workshop segment will offer attendees the opportunity to complete a Records Disposal Certificate with guidance.

Speaker: Jennifer Flores, Principal, Lauterbach & Amen, LLP
Speaker Bio:
Ms. Flores has been a part of the Lauterbach & Amen team since 2019. She assists numerous downstate Pension Funds through her role as a Pension Services Administrator and with her expertise in Local Records Management.
Ms. Flores has developed a unique records management program offered by Lauterbach and Amen, LLP and has dedicated countless hours putting the Illinois Local Records Management processes into practice for Police and Fire Pension Boards, Fire Protection Districts and other Local Boards across the state.
By streamlining the Records Identification and Disposal (Records ID) service, she has been able to assist her clients with the management, retention and disposal of their local records in a lawful manner which adheres to the Illinois Local Records Act.

Participants completing this seminar should be able to:
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of Illinois local records requirements and processes
- Identify key documents required by the Illinois State Archives and understand each document’s purpose including their respective components
- Complete a Records Disposal Certificate on a consistent basis for their agency

Registration & Cancellation Policy
Payments by check should be mailed in advance or made at time of registration by credit card.
Cancellation of an event registration is subject to the following policy:
• No refunds will be given for cancellations the day of the event and no shows.
• For IGFOA event registration cancellations five (5) business days or more prior to an event, refunds will be offset by a $20 cancellation fee.
• For IGFOA event registration cancellations within five (5) business days of the training, refunds will be offset by a cancellation fee of 50% of the registration fee.
• A substitute attendee may be designated provided that the payment has been made and the IGFOA office has been notified in advance.
• Cancellation policy for chapter events may differ from this policy at the chapters’ discretion.
• A written request for a refund must be emailed to the IGFOA prior to the event.
By submitting this registration, the applicant agrees to the registration and cancellation policy above.
IGFOA reserves the right to modify the agenda and/or speakers, cancel the training due to low enrollment, or to close registration if full. Should IGFOA cancel an event, cancellation notice will be sent to the email address provided by each registrant and prominently posted at the IGFOA website page announcing the event.
