Event Description
Implementing and Reporting GASB No. 84, Fiduciary Activities
The Governmental Accounting Standards Board recently released a pronouncement on Fiduciary Activities that changes the definitions of fiduciary funds, which fiduciary activities to include in the primary government’s financial statements and what is reported for certain fiduciary funds. Join us for an interactive discussion on the new standard and how it could impact your financial statements and day to day operations.
Participants completing this session will be able to:
• Obtain an understanding of the definition of fiduciary funds,
• Understand the types of fiduciary activities to be reported in the future,
• Learn how the new pronouncement will impact reporting of your current fiduciary funds,
• Understand what your next steps should be and when you should begin the process.
Speaker: Joe Lightcap, CPA, Partner, Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP
Presented by the Downstate chapter
